24MW DONG YANG ENERGY PV(photovoltaic) power plant
36
24MW DONG YANG ENERGY PV (photovoltaic) power plant located in Jeollanam-Do, Republic of Korea, generates electricity based on solar energy. It contributes to the national renewable energy promotion policy and the global effort of GHG emission reduction. The project contributes to lowering the dependence of power generation from fossil fuels and has the effect of reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
The facility includes the power plant of 24MW in total generating capacity with the 180W*108,864 pieces and 200W*21,792 pieces of supplied 17.1% efficiency. The project produces about 34,510 MWh per year and achieves an average annual emission reduction of 21,037 tCO2 over ten years.
DONG YANG ENERGY is responsible for the practical operation and management of this project, and ECOEYE supports the issuance of carbon credits. ECOEYE is a company that develops carbon credits not only in the Republic of Korea but also in various types of projects around the world.
The main goals of the project are to:
reduce the greenhouse gas emission in Korea.
utilize no greenhouse emission photovoltaic power to contribute to sustainable development of local communities.
Contribution of the project activity to sustainable development
The contributions of project activity towards sustainable development are explained with the following indicators:
Environmental:
The photovoltaic power plant replaces coal-fired power plants and contributes to the national reduction of GHG emissions.
The plant contributes toward improving the quality of air and creating better living conditions nationwide by reducing air pollution.
Social/Technology:
The project can diversify sources of electric generation and improves power generation technology.
The project contributes to the revitalization of the local energy industry with the cooperation of local governments.
Economic:
The proposed project supplies the local area with available electric power and contributes to the national energy supply.
The proposed project creates job opportunities directly and indirectly through construction and operation of the plant.
