The Project Proponent (PP), VVD and Sons Private Limited (VVD), is one among the well established companies in the region.

The renewable energy project of VVD (4.2 MW) is capable to supply 9198 MWh of electricity to the southern grid of India.The project activity is thus renewable and clean form of energy generation that reduces 8427 tonnes of CO2 emissions per annum that would have been otherwise emitted to the atmosphere.

Contribution of the project activity to sustainable development

The contributions of project activity towards sustainable development are explained with indicators like contributions to social, economic, environmental and technological well being aspects as follows:

Contribution to Social Wellbeing:

• The establishment of these WEGs is contributing to increase economic activity in the region which thereby necessitates establishment of better infrastructural facilities in the region and overall socially beneficial.

Contribution to Economic Wellbeing:

• The project activity creates both direct employment opportunities (through employment of personnel during commissioning stage and operational lifetime of the project) and indirect employment opportunities (through engagement of project consultants, equipment suppliers and other contractors) for individuals in various strata of the society thereby improving their economic well being.

Contribution to Environmental Wellbeing:

• The project is a clean and green form of electricity generation and does not involve the release of any emissions (SOx, NOx etc) generally associated with conventional forms of electricity generation.
• The project activity contributes to the mitigation of green house gas emissions and hence reduces the impacts of global warming.

Contribution to Technological Wellbeing:

• The wind power plant is providing an opportunity for the expansion of Wind Farm related industrial branches and factories, hence stimulates the growth of wind power industry.
