The project activity is a bundled wind power project of capacity 5.3 MW installed in the states of Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Rajasthan in India. The project activity supplies electricity to the Indian grid. The total installed capacity of the project activity is 5.30 MW. The project activity uses wind energy to produce electricity and no other input is used, therefore, it does not produce any greenhouse gas emissions.
The project activity is an initiative of Sanghvi Foods Pvt. Limited and its group companies, Roshni Energy and Sanghvi Energy.
Contribution to Sustainable Development The contributions of this project towards sustainable development are explained with the following indicators:
Contribution to Social Wellbeing: There are several activities associated with the erection and commissioning of this project and this has resulted in generating employment for both skilled and unskilled manpower. People have been employed in both onsite and offsite activities thus creating direct and indirect employment opportunities contributing to poverty alleviation in local communities.
Contribution to Economic Wellbeing: The project activity makes additional investment for generating grid connected wind energy to partially fulfil the electricity demand. The investment in the project activity has also increased the economic activity in the local area.
Contribution to Environmental Wellbeing: The project activity reduces the emissions of local and global pollutants. It also conserves the nonrenewable energy resources as the project activity does not consume any non-renewable resource for generating the electricity.
Contribution to Technological Wellbeing: Investment in renewable technologies like wind energy boosts the sector and propels research and development, helping to evolve better and more efficient technologies.
