The project activity involves the installation of 6 MW solar photovoltaic technology based power plant at Kolanupaka, Telangana. The project will replace anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gases (GHGs) estimated to be approximately 9,535 tCO2e per year, thereon it displaces average 9,899 MWh/year amount of electricity from the generation-mix of power plants connected to the southern grid, which is mainly dominated by thermal/fossil fuel based power plant.
The project has demonstrated the viability of grid connected solar farms to support improved air quality, alternative sustainable energy futures, energy security, improved local livelihoods and sustainable renewable energy industry development in the southern region of India.

Arhyama Solar is a socially responsible organization dedicated to improving the quality of life in the projects vicinity. This project has contributed to the following benefits to the local region:
Distribution of necessary infrastructure such as furniture in Government Primary School, Kolanupaka village, District Yadadri Bhongir, Telangana benefitting over 120 children.
Ensuring provision of “pulses” (Green Gram, Horse Gram & Chickpeas) on a regular basis to the students of the Government Primary School, Kolanupaka village.
Organized a health camp in Kolanupaka village incoordination with the reputed Kamineni Hospitals of Hyderabad” benefitting 400 people wherein it:
Provided Out Patient Department services to the community.
Provided both preventive and curative treatment for common diseases and health problems among the community.
Spread awareness on Diabetes, Reproductive tract infections, Tuberculosis (TB), Cancer and other ailments.
The medical camp was also aimed to encourage use of available nutritious food products in the area.

The camp had specialists covering Diabetes, Pediatrics, ENT, Orthopedics, Cardiac Care as well as a General Physician.
The project has led to direct employment generation for15 persons on a permanent basis, out of which 7 employees were hired locally (which included site supervisors & engineers as well as security personnel). Apart from direct employment, project is causing indirect employment by providing industrial training and internships to the local engineering college & polytechnic college students.
