Approximately 130 million units (MU) of green power are being supplied annually to the Maharashtra State Electricity Board (MSEB) grid, which forms part of the Western Regional Grid of India.

Contribution to Sustainable Development

The project contributes to sustainable development in four key areas:

Social Well-being:

• Supports the objectives of the Government of India's and Maharashtra's wind power generation policies, aimed at promoting energy generation from non-conventional sources and addressing the growing energy demand in the state.
• Encourages entrepreneurs from all sectors to invest in wind technology.
• Enhances local employment opportunities and builds capacity in the surrounding rural area.

Economic Well-being:

• Promotes rural and infrastructural development around the project site.
• Contributes to the economic growth of a remote village in Maharashtra through investment in the region.

Environmental Well-being:

• Reduces reliance on fossil fuels for additional electricity generation, as the project windmills generate equivalent power.
• Decreases greenhouse gas emissions (CH4 and CO2) and other air pollutants from fossil fuel extraction, processing, transportation, and combustion.
• Minimizes the emission of pollutants (SOx, NOx, PM, etc.) associated with conventional power generation.
• Conserves natural resources, including land, forests, minerals, water, and ecosystems.

Technological Well-being:

• The successful deployment of a new wind turbine generator model increase’s reliability and enhances the efficiency of large capacity wind mills.
