The project is located in Gongzhuling County, Siping City, Jilin Province, P.R.China and was constructed and operated by National Gongzhuling Bio Energy Co., Ltd. The purpose of the project activity is to generate electricity by using the renewable hydraulic resources to meet the ever-increasing demand for energy in the region.

The project generates electricity using hydro potential available in Cauvery River and exporting the generated electricity to the state-owned power utility company Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Ltd. (KPTCL).
