Biomass based power plant in Mahendargarh, Haryana
152
The project activity involves the installation of a greenfield 10 MW biomass based power plant in a village called Khurawata in Haryana, India.
The purpose of the project activity is to utilize biomass fuel originated from mustard crop residue, Julia Flora and paddy waste (which is agricultural waste), to generate electricity. The electricity is produced by the steam created from burning the renewable biomas and is then exported to the Integrated Northern, Eastern, Western, and North-Eastern(NEWNE) regional grids. This contributes towards bridging the gap between demand and supply in the power-deficit electricity system from a renewable source which in turn reduces GHG emissions and avoids the use of fossil fuels.
