Environmental Impact:

By switching from fossil fuels to wind power, the Gancheng project is expected to reduce annual carbon emissions by approximately 89,203 tons of CO₂.  Alongside reducing greenhouse gases, the project significantly cuts other harmful pollutants, such as nitrogen oxides (NOx), sulfur dioxide (SO₂), and suspended particles, helping improve air quality in Hainan Province. This makes a measurable difference in combatting pollution and contributing to cleaner air and healthier communities.

Supporting Sustainable Development:

The Gancheng Wind Power Project is more than an energy initiative; it’s a local economic driver. In its construction phase, the project has created a variety of temporary job opportunities, and during operations, it has provided long-term employment for 15 workers. This sustainable energy project also supports local infrastructure improvements and strengthens the power grid’s reliability, enhancing the quality of life for residents by ensuring stable electricity for both households and industries in the area.

Location and Local Benefits:

Positioned strategically between Gancheng Town and Banqiao Town, this 10 square-kilometer wind farm maximizes the region’s high wind potential, situated near the coast where wind resources are abundant. The location not only helps tap into renewable energy but also showcases Hainan’s natural beauty, supporting the local community’s economic resilience and commitment to environmental stewardship.
