This Gold Standard Solar Cooker project is among our most valuable projects. By supporting five different Sustainable Development Goals (1: No Poverty, 3: Good Health & Well being, 7: Affordable and Clean Energy, 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, 13: Climate Ation), the project helped to significantly develop local communities in the poor Nanyang area to improve their living standard. Due to its high value, it was also certified as Gold Standard; the most valuable certification a project can obtain due to the support of co-benefits for local communities.

Nanyang Danjiang River Solar Cooker Project Phase II is located in the southwest of Henan Province. This region is an ideal area for solar energy utilization.
Having set out the Solar Cookers in one of the poorest regions in China, the project allowed the local communities to cook without using the harmful coal stoves in their houses. It provides them a clean, healthy and efficient way of cooking and therefore significantly improves the living standard of the local communities in the area.
The project involves the distribution and installation of 48,000 sets of solar cookers for rural households. The daylighting area of each solar cooker will be no less than 1.7 m2 and the rated output is 773.5Wth. The rated and maximum total installed capacity of the project is 38.675MWth. The beneficial population is anticipated to be 178,710 once the project is put into operation.
