The Ningxia Helanshan Wind Farm Project is a 111.9 MW onshore wind farm project located near to the Inner Mongolian border in Ningxia, China. The project includes 111 wind turbines, each carrying an installed capacity of 850kW.

 The project is a clean and sustainable source of electricity which replaces the energy generated by the pollutive Northwest Power Grid. This way it reduces annually 216,253 metric tonnes of CO2.

 The project has been a starting point of a sustainable movement. As the energy consumption in the Ningxia area and entire China has been increasing, this wind farm project has been established to provide a more sustainable way to meet the increasing demand of electricity by providing clean energy.

 Finally, the project promotes the local economy; it reduces poverty through new investments and creates working opportunities for local communities. In addition, the project promotes local tourism as the wind parks are a tourist attraction. These economic benefits are important to Ningxia, as this region is a poverty stricken region in China.

 Investing in the Carbon Credits of the Ningxia Helanshan Wind-Farm Project is an incentive for Chinese Project Developers to develop more sustainable projects. This will consequently lead to next steps to be taken towards a sustainable and carbon neutral future.
