The system is equipped with a biogas capturing system and it replaced the low-rate open anaerobic lagoon barn flushing effluent treatment system. The captured biogas is used as fuel in two units of gas engines to generate electricity for using in the farm. The generated electricity displaced the power that was previously imported from the national electricity grid. This project results in the reduction of GHG emissions through avoidance of methane from the conventional open lagoon system and displacement of electricity from the national grid.

Furthermore, our host site and CDM project possess the required necessary environmental, health & safety and social (EHS) permits and are in compliance with EHS permit condition. There is no social unrest or negative campaign by affected communities or NGOs involving either the host site or the CDM project in relation to the lives or health & safety of workers and affected communities and the integrity of the local environment.
