Our Contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals

We generate renewable energy, directly contributing to SDG #7 – Affordable and Clean Energy, and SDG #13 – Climate Action. Beyond this, we continually strive to create a positive impact, committed to contributing to the neighboring communities of our projects. We prioritize sustainable development and social investment initiatives that bring meaningful improvements to the quality of life and well-being of the entire community.

Our alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) reflects our broader commitment to mitigating risks, building positive relationships, and generating lasting impacts in the communities where we operate. Through our work, we contribute to 14 of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

For many years, our community development efforts at the San Jacinto-Tizate Geothermal Power Plant have focused on fundamental areas such as education, community infrastructure, agriculture, health, and sports. This program positively impacts the lives of five communities and approximately 5,000 people.

The social impact of our actions has made these communities more resilient, providing access to water services that positively affect human rights, preparing children and young people for the future, equipping small producers with the necessary technology and resources, and supporting communities with infrastructure that promotes healthy recreation and integration.

Additionally, we implement environmental projects that have restored degraded areas, facilitated the recovery of fauna species, created biological corridors, and fostered the presence of species indicative of forest conservation.
