Reason for cancellation

Purchase of carbon offsetting units by Peterson Group Ltd is for retirement on the company’s own behalf. The units were sourced by Highland Carbon Ltd. Each offsetting unit mitigates a tonne of carbon dioxide emission. The purpose of the project is to utilise excess biogass generated from sugar mill operation to generate steam in a cogeneration plant for internal use and to export to Uttar Pradesh. Highland Carbon has won the award for the ‘Best UK Carbon Credit Supplier’ for 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024. Highland Carbon was described by the British Chambers of Commerce as an "inspirational UK businesses working on innovative green solutions” during the lead up to COP28.
