WASTE HEAT RECOVERY CDM CPP

In this project activity electricity is generated not through conventional fossil fuel but using waste heat flue gases emanating from other facility which is an adjunct to a mini steel plant. These hot gases produce steam by heating up water for power generation.

In this process the following is accomplished: 

- Coal is saved to the extent required to generate 25 MW Power and hence conserve natural resources;

- Thermal pollution is sequestrated, as had these gases not been tapped for power generation, they would have heated up the neighborhood with consequent environmental degradation;

- Elimination of fly ash generation thereby ensuring solid waste management and;

- Curtail emission of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere amounting to an average annual CO2 emission of around 1,600,000 tons.

Overall the Project contributes to sustainable industrial growth.
