Wind power project in Maharashtra by TVS Energy Limited
1
Green Infra BTV Limited 4 (TVS Energy) develops a 25.5 MW wind farm in the state of Maharashtra, India. The project comprises 17 Wind Electric Generators (WEGs), each with a capacity of 1500 kW. These turbines generate clean and renewable electricity, which is supplied to the Indian grid, supporting the transition toward a greener energy mix.
By utilizing Vensys 82 Wind Energy Generators from ReGen Powertech Private Limited (RPPL), the project not only taps into the abundant wind potential of the region but also reduces dependency on non-renewable, fossil fuel-based energy sources.
This transition aligns directly with SDG 7 – Affordable and Clean Energy, by increasing the share of renewable energy in the national energy mix and promoting access to clean energy solutions. The electricity produced contributes to reducing energy-related emissions and enhancing energy security in India.
The development, construction, and operation of the wind farm also generate local employment and foster skill development in the renewable energy sector. This supports SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth, by promoting sustainable economic opportunities in rural areas and encouraging technological advancement and innovation in clean energy technologies.
Furthermore, the project contributes meaningfully to climate action by reducing greenhouse gas emissions associated with conventional energy generation. This directly supports SDG 13 – Climate Action, as the displacement of fossil fuels helps mitigate climate change by lowering carbon emissions. The project serves as a practical example of how clean energy infrastructure can play a pivotal role in national and global efforts to combat climate change while promoting sustainable development.
