The objective of the project is the generation of zero carbon emission electricity from a renewable source - hydropower.

The purpose of the project activity is to set up a natural gas based combined cycle power plant (CCPP) through a special purpose vehicle Bhander Power Limited (BPL).

The project resides in the industrial district of Bocaiúva, in the northern state of Minas Gerais, a region dedicated to metallurgy, mining, agriculture and reforestation. The project replaces fossil fuel by renewable biomass at one of the factories of Rima Industrial.

The bundled project activity comprises of two run-of-the river hydroelectric schemes with capacities of 5 MW each. The project generates electricity using hydro potential available in Cauvery River and exporting the generated electricity to the state-owned power utility company Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Ltd. (KPTCL).

The purpose of the project activity is to generate electricity by using the renewable hydraulic resources to meet the ever-increasing demand for energy in the region.

The aim of this project is to reduce nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions in the tail gas of the nitric acid plant of Pakarab Fertilizer Ltd. N2O is an undesired by-product in the production process of nitric acid, which was normally released to the atmosphere.
